This is a delicious and gorgeous cocktail that is perfect for Valentines.  It’s similar to a lemon drop, but strawberries are used instead of lemons.  It’s so delicious and easy to make!

2 oz. Citrus Vodka or Regular Vodka
1 oz. Orange Liqueur (such as Cointreau)
5-6 Strawberries (depending on size) (about 1 cup)
1 oz. Simple Syrup
Sugar or Sanding Sugar for rim and Strawberry for garnish

Start with washing the strawberries and cutting the tops off.  Prepare the glass by using one of the strawberry tops to moisten the rim of the glass.  Then place sugar on a plate and dip the rim of the glass into the sugar and set aside.  Place 5-6 strawberries (mine were small so depending on the size you may need less).  Place the strawberries in the cocktail shaker and use the muddler to mash the strawberries.  Add ice to the cocktail shaker.  Then add the vodka, orange liqueur and simple syrup.  Shake well (at least 10 seconds).  I recommend double straining to ensure you get all the seeds and mush out. I used the hawthorn strainer and the fine mesh strainer.
