Anyone remember the Alabama Slammer?  This would have been a staple at Crimson Tide tailgate parties (maybe still is?).  It’s fruity, delicious and packs a punch!

Please do not try to substitute regular gin for Sloe gin.  Sloe gin is different.  It is a sweet gin based liqueur that is flavored with blackthorn plums and is not gin.  It is aged in barrels and has a red color.

Recipe:

1 oz. Southern Comfort
1 oz. Amaretto
1 oz. Sloe Gin
2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add the southern comfort, sloe gin, amaretto and orange juice.  Shake well and strain into a high ball glass filled with fresh ice.
